Cell Phone Video Captures Massive Gas Explosion at Mexico Hospital
A cell phone video captured the moment a gas explosion leveled a maternity and children's hospital in Mexico City.
Martha MacCallum reported on "America's Newsroom" that three people died and more than 70 were injured in the tragic blast Thursday.
The propane gas delivery truck exploded after a hose broke, spewing a huge cloud of gas.
She said that the driver warned people in the area of the leak and told them to clear out 15 minutes before the truck exploded.
Associated Press reported:
A 25-year-old nurse and a newborn between 2 and 3 weeks old died at the scene and another infant died several hours later at another pediatric hospital, said Armando Ahued, the city's health secretary. He had said earlier that 21 babies in all had been injured, and nine of those and seven adults were in serious condition after being rushed to other hospitals.
