Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) questioned attorney general nominee Loretta Lynch on immigration at a confirmation hearing today.

“Who has more right to a job in this country: a lawful immigrant who’s here, a green card holder, or a citizen, or a person who entered the country unlawfully?” he asked her.

Lynch said the “right and obligation to work is shared by everyone in this country regardless of how they came here.”

Sessions sounded off tonight on “The Kelly File,” saying that we don’t have enough jobs for the Americans here today.

“We’ve gotta ask ourselves who it is this government is representing. Are we representing the interest of Americans who are hurting today effectively, who are having a difficult time of having jobs, whose wages are down?” he asked.

Sessions said the administration is “as committed to finding jobs for illegal people in our country today as they are people who are here lawfully.”
