A blizzard warning is in effect across the Northeast as a winter storm bears down on the region.


  • A blizzard warning is in effect for a 250-mile stretch of the Northeast.
  • Governors in seven states have declared states of emergencies. A travel ban has been implemented in some areas.
  • The blizzard could drop 2-4 inches of snow per hour in some areas.
  • The entire MTA subway system, as well as bridges and tunnels, shut down for the first time due to a winter storm.
  • More than 7,000 flights have already been canceled.
