Police: Pair Tried to Smuggle Heroin-Laced Bible Into Jail
Law enforcement officials in Ohio say that a woman tried to send a Bible to an inmate at the county jail with drugs hidden inside.
A Hamilton County Sheriff's Office spokesman said that a police dog alerted an officer when the delivery arrived. That's when the officer noticed a stain on one of the pages.
They had the substance tested at the coroner's office and confirmed it was heroin. A regional narcotics unit later determined there was enough for 40 doses.
Officials say 39-year-old Tehani Teepe and 28-year-old inmate Timothy King have both been charged with illegal conveyance of contraband into a correction facility.
