Bill O’Reilly tonight sounded off on Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s Time Magazine column on Islam.

Abdul-Jabbar, who converted to Islam 47 years ago, wants Americans to understand that Islam is not the problem; he says that vicious individuals who have perverted the religion are the issue.

“That theory has some major problems,” O’Reilly said.

Abdul-Jabbar wrote:

Knowing that these terrorist attacks are not about religion, we have to reach a point where we stop bringing Islam into these discussions. I know we aren’t there yet because much of the Western population doesn’t understand the Islamic religion.

O’Reilly agreed with this point, but he added that “much of the Muslim world apparently does not understand the Islamic religion.” He explained that Pakistan allows the Taliban sanctuary because the Pakistani government believes that’s permissible under Islam. He also noted that Turkey won’t help the West fight ISIS on its border.

“Does Islam condone the beheading of innocent people? Doesn't the Koran state that a good Muslim protects the innocent and fights against injustice?” O’Reilly questioned. “Apparently the Turkish government does not understand the Islamic religion either.”

O’Reilly said he could give dozens more examples, from wealthy Islamists funding terror groups to Sharia Law being used to abuse women.

“So Kareem Abdul-Jabbar should understand that Islam is being presented to the world in a way that is dubious, to say the least,” he said.

Abdul-Jabbar also wrote:

When the Ku Klux Klan burn a cross in a black family’s yard, prominent Christians aren’t required to explain how these aren’t really Christian acts. Most people already realize that the KKK doesn’t represent Christian teachings. That’s what I and other Muslims long for—the day when these terrorists praising the Prophet Muhammad or Allah’s name as they debase their actual teachings are instantly recognized as thugs disguising themselves as Muslims.

O’Reilly said that Abdul-Jabbar’s wish would come true faster if Muslim nations would confront the jihad the same way that the U.S. confronted the KKK.

“The Factor” host stressed that President Barack Obama and the left don’t believe it’s right to hold the Muslim world accountable for terrorism.

O’Reilly said that Obama has a responsibility to Americans to engage himself in destruction of the jihad, but the U.S. “simply reacts to the latest atrocities, sometimes in a weak and confusing way.”

American Muslims are good people and good citizens, O’Reilly said, explaining that America doesn't have the same problem as Europe, where he said “chaos is beginning to reign.”

“But the USA is supposed to be the leader of the world, so the question becomes: are we mobilizing the world against the jihad? The answer is no we are not. President Obama will not even say the word.”
