'American Sniper' Writer: We Can Do a Better Job of Welcoming Troops Home
“American Sniper” screenwriter Jason Hall was on “Hannity” tonight following the announcement that he has been nominated for an Oscar for “best adapted screenplay.”
The film is based on slain Navy SEAL Chris Kyle’s four tours of duty.
Hall said our soldiers are asked to make decisions that will stick with them for the rest of their lives. He said that he hopes the film enables Americans to understand what soldiers go through.
“Maybe we can understand what they go through and be able to engage them in a conversation, so they don’t feel like they’re so alone with all this turmoil and all these decisions they made,” he said. “And certainly I think as a government and a community that we can do a better job of welcoming them home. “
Tune in to Fox News Channel tomorrow at 10p ET for a "Hannity" special on "American Sniper."
