"American Sniper," the much-anticipated new film that tells the story of late Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle, opens nationwide this Friday.

Not everyone is excited about the movie, however.

In advance of the film's release, the anti-gun group the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence invited its Facebook fans to slam Kyle, who is credited with the most sniper kills in the history of the U.S. military.

One Facebook fan wrote, "Heroes don't kill for a living!"

Others posted messages such as "Good Riddance" and "What goes around comes around."
