Seattle police are still searching for a gunman who ambushed a group of officers on New Year's Eve.

Dashcam video shows the shooting, which occurred minutes after police responded for a second time to a report of domestic violence between a man and a woman.

Officers were first called to a home around 10 p.m. after receiving a report of a domestic dispute. They investigated the incident and left the scene.

Shortly after 10:30 p.m., police returned to the home for a second time, when the victim called 911 stating the suspect had kicked a door and was making threats, KCPQ reported.

The dashcam video starts by showing police interviewing the man as he sits on the hood of a patrol car.

Police said a vehicle quickly pulled up behind the officers and stopped. Then suddenly, gunfire was heard and the officers ducked quickly behind a patrol car, shielding the suspect.

The video shows one female officer returning fire at the gunman, who then pulled away in a car.

No one was injured in the dangerous incident.
