'We Owe It to Them': Group Raising Money for Families of Fallen NYPD Officers
As New York continues to mourn the tragic loss of NYPD Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu, an organization is stepping up with a goal of raising $800,000 to pay off the mortgages on the officers' families' homes.
Frank Siller is chairman of the Steven Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which is named after his brother who was a firefighter who died on 9/11. Siller appeared on "Fox and Friends" this morning to discuss the fundraising, which is already at more than $600,000.
"We have to pay these mortgages off, because it's just one less thing for these families to worry about," Siller said.
"I think it's so important that America comes together, that we make sure we tell them that we're behind them. And that one thing that we can do is alleviate the pressure of them having to make their mortgage payments ... as Rudy Giuliani said, they've earned it. We owe it to them."
Siller said that anyone who is interested in contributing can visit Tunnel2Towers.org.
