Clerk: Teen Burned Alive Bought More Than Twice Her Normal Amount of Gas
New information is emerging as investigators seek the person who burned a teenager alive in Mississippi.
Jessica Chambers, 19, was burned alive on Saturday. A fire chief says that she whispered something to first responders, and Chambers’ dad alleges that she revealed the name of her killer.
About 90 minutes before firefighters arrived on scene, Chambers stopped to get gas.
A clerk said she normally bought $5 worth of gas, but this time, she bought more than twice that much. When he asked her why, she said, “I’m going somewhere,” and that she was going to make a stop before going home.
According to the clerk, Chambers got a call on her cellphone on her way out of the store, then came back in to buy cigarettes and drove away.
