Gutfeld on Garner Death: 'Unnecessary Laws Have Consequences'
In tonight’s monologue, Greg Gutfeld said that a grand jury’s decision in the Eric Garner tragedy was a shocker for many.
“It doesn’t make sense, we saw the video,” he said. “But if you look closer, it’s not about cops vs. blacks, but government vs. citizens, the nanny state crushing the individual.”
Gutfeld said that the officer in this case wouldn’t have approached Garner if the law didn’t make him.
“I don’t believe for a moment that any man, even a cop, wants to wrestle a 350-pound man over a single damn cigarette.”
Gutfeld remarked that you can buy one beer, but not one cigarette, and that Garner provided for those who didn’t have the $15 needed for a pack.
“Unnecessary laws have consequences, in this case, death,” he said.
