Walking through a corn maze with the family on a nice fall day is supposed to be a fun activity, but it turns out one California farm's maze has proven to be a bit too elaborate.

Panicked visitors have been getting so hopelessly lost in the 63-acre monstrosity (pictured below) that some have decided to call 911 for help (audio above).

Cool Patch Pumpkins in Dixon had already set the Guinness World Record for largest corn maze in 2007, and this year's version was even larger.

The farm operator, Matt Cooley, provides visitors with a map and cautions that it is supposed to take hours to finish.

But he said that every weekend he hears from the local police of at least one call from someone lost inside.

The police now notify Cooley when someone is lost so he can go find them without bogging down authorities.
