Man Arrested in 2nd Wife's Fatal Cliff Fall; 1st Wife Crushed by Car in '95
A Colorado man is facing murder charges after prosecutors say he may have pushed his second wife off a cliff more than a decade after a car crushed his first wife.
Harold and Carol Henthorn were celebrating their 12th anniversary at Rocky Mountain National Park on Sept. 29, 2012, when Carol fell 50 feet off a cliff and died.
Harold had said that she was trying to take a photo when she fell, but prosecutors now say he intentionally pushed his wife off the cliff.
Court documents say Carol had taken out three life insurance policies totally $4.5 million.
Harold’s first wife, Sandra, died in 1995. The couple reportedly got a flat tire, and Sandra was under the car changing it when the jack that held the car slipped and the car crushed her.
Authorities have now reopened the investigation into the death of Harold's first wife.
