The first black Republican woman elected to Congress was on “Hannity” tonight, where she said her election was not historic because of her skin color.

“This is historic [...] but it’s not historic because of the color of my skin, but it’s historic because Utah has decided to elect a person based on their principles, based on values that we hold dear here. And I think that’s a great thing, a great message to stand out, and I am excited,” Utah Rep. elect Mia Love said.

Love said Utah is tired of living under the policies of the last six years.

“Washington used to be this group that most of us would say, ‘Oh my gosh, they’re a mess up there,’ but it’s really starting to seep into our homes,” she said.
