'Very Sick Man': Mom Reacts to Arrest Made in Her Daughter’s Abduction
A Philadelphia nursing assistant who was abducted this weekend has been found alive.
Carlesha Freeland-Gaither, 22, was rescued in Jessup, Md., today after her violent abduction was caught on camera this weekend in Philadelphia.
Delven Barnes, 37, has been arrested in connection with the abduction. The suspect also has an outstanding warrant for attempted murder in Virginia.
Someone saw the two in a parking lot and called police. FBI, U.S. Marshals, and local police descended on the car, waited for Barnes to step out, made the rescue and then arrested him.
Freeland-Gaither has slight injuries, but is OK.
“I always knew my daughter was coming home, not a doubt. […] I just had to wait for the day that she came home,” her mother, Keisha Gaither said tonight.
She said she is not mad at the suspect because he will have to answer to God.
“I feel sorry for him, I feel sorry for his soul. He’s a very sick man, he needs a lot of help.”
