Although she has tried to backpedal and explain her statement - saying she "shorthanded this point" - many have seized onto the comment.

On "The Cost of Freedom" today, Bill Johnson, former Heinz CEO, called it "an idiotic statement" and asked if businesses and corporations don't create jobs, then who does?

Even if businesses didn’t do all the job creation, Johnson said, they pay a significant amount of taxes that the government then redeploys to create jobs.

He added that Clinton herself has done very little to create an atmosphere that is conducive to businesses and job creation.
