Gen Richard Myers, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, joined Megyn Kelly tonight to weigh in on U.S. foreign policy and the fight against ISIS.

Myers touched on former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta’s remarks about President Barack Obama and our foreign policy, calling Panetta one of our wisest leaders on national security.

“When he says things, we ought to listen,” Myers said.

Myers questioned whether airstrikes would be enough in the fight against ISIS. He also said that military force won’t be sufficient. According to Myers, dealing with the ISIS threat will require diplomatic engagement with the government in Baghdad.

“This isn’t something that’s gonna turn around overnight,” he said.

Myers said that the world needs U.S. leadership in these kinds of situations.
