The mother of the Marine jailed in Mexico was on “The O’Reilly Factor,” where she said her son is “highly despondent” as he continues to languish in jail.

Jill Tahmooressi said her son, Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi, has been incarcerated for 179 days. She said that he made a wrong turn and ended up in Mexico, in possession of three legally purchased guns.

“His only access is his thoughts and his mind,” Jill said, explaining that her son has PTSD and is losing hope that he will ever get out of jail. He is not allowed a radio or TV – only a Bible and one book – and he has no way to exercise, she said.

Jill explained that Andrew was moving to San Diego, which is why he has all of his possessions – including the guns – in his vehicle. She reiterated that he immediately told authorities that he had the guns and that he had made a wrong turn.

There will be a congressional hearing on Oct. 1 on Tahmooressi.

Bill O’Reilly told Jill that he believes President Barack Obama could handle this himself by appealing to the Mexican president on a humanitarian level.
