Arrest Warrant Charges Man With Abduction of Missing UVA Student
Police have issued an arrest warrant in connection with the disappearance of a University of Virginia student.
The warrant charges 32-year-old Jesse Matthew with abduction of 18-year-old Hannah Graham, who was last seen on Sept. 13.
Griff Jenkins spoke to Matthew’s former boss from when he was a cab driver. His old boss described him as a nice, reliable cab driver who was courteous to the customers.
He noted that cab drivers do have a very in-depth knowledge of the area of Charlottesville, Va., saying that they are in their cars 13 hours a day – more than police officers.
“I can think of five or 10 places to hide a body easy in this town,” he said.
Matthew was last seen speeding away from a police station and is sought on an unrelated dangerous driving warrant. He was driving a blue 1997 Nissan, believed to belong to his sister.
State and federal resources have been deployed to locate him.
