O’Reilly: Sooner or Later, U.S. Ground Forces Will Have to Engage ISIS
In tonight’s Talking Points Memo, Bill O’Reilly called for a declaration of war and a smart, tough strategy to fight ISIS.
“The Factor" host said that Obama’s strategy of arming disorganized Syrians to defeat the terror group will never work. According to O’Reilly, Obama knows that, but he’s afraid to tell the American people the truth – that sooner or later, U.S. ground forces will have to engage ISIS. He noted that there are already nearly 2,000 U.S. troops on the ground in Iraq, providing support for Kurdish forces.
“The big picture here is that the Islamic jihad is growing in strength. Some people believe by ignoring that, it will go away,” O’Reilly said, calling it “insane.”
“The more weakness America shows, the worse terrorism will become,” he said.
O’Reilly said that most jihadists are maniacs, who will do anything – kill children, enslave women and behead people on camera.
“When you have that kind of a scenario, there is no negotiating, there is only confrontation.”
According to O’Reilly, the quicker America realizes that, the quicker the jihad will be downgraded.
