‘All Are Loved & Welcome’: Pizzeria Owner Sounds Off on Church Bulletin Discount Controversy
An Arkansas pizzeria is under fire for offering a 10-percent discount for customers who come in with a church bulletin on Sundays.
The Freedom From Religion Foundation says Bailey’s Pizza is discriminating. In a statement, the group said, “The law requires places of public accommodation to offer their services to customers without regard to race, color, religion or national origin.”
Bailey’s Pizza owner Amy Rose said the discount was just “a way to bring in more business and more love to our community.”
Owner Steven Rose said, “We are not throwing rocks, we’re not ugly. We are just standing, we’re just standing for what we believe in: to be kind to others and to look for ways to plug into the community. It wasn't meant to exclude anyone. It was meant to broaden the scope and invite all ‘cause all are loved and all are welcomed.”
