A truck driver quickly became a hero last week after a fiery crash on a highway in Mississippi. David Fredericksen got out of his truck with a fire extinguisher and ran to the scene, prompting other drivers to do the same.

A woman and a one-year-old child were rescued from the burning car as Fredericksen did his best to douse the flames.

Soon after he and others got them out, there was an explosion in the car before a fire truck and police arrived.

Fredericksen called in to Fox and Friends this morning, saying he has learned that the woman sustained a broken leg or ankle.

"I think about the story in the Bible about the good Samaritan. The car in front of me actually went through the fire and kept on driving. We like to think that, not that we're heroes, but we're just good Americans," he said.
