Texas Gov. Rick Perry was on “Fox News Sunday” today, where he defended the veto threat that has led to his indictment on charges of abuse of power.

Perry threatened to veto funds for the public integrity unit run by Travis County DA Rosemary Lehmberg, who was convicted of drunken driving and yet refused to resign.

“If I had to do it again, I would make exactly the same decision,” he said, explaining that both he and the public had lost confidence in Lehmberg after her blood alcohol content was found to be nearly three times the legal limit, and authorities had to restrain her.

Perry also said that indictments are not the way to settle political differences.
