Friday morning, Trace Adkins joined Fox and Friends live outside Fox News Headquarters in New York City for the latest crowd-pleasing performance of the All-American Summer Concert Series.

Adkins also spoke with Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade about the rough year he's had, which included losing his dad.

“Tough times don’t last. Tough people do,” Adkins said.

Kilmeade pointed out that tough times have been the inspiration for great country music over the years, and Adkins - who has released 12 albums during his prolific career - revealed he’s written new songs for his next album that are based on the past year.

Also one of the biggest supporters of the Wounded Warrior Project, Adkins said, “It’s a privilege for me to be a part of that organization [and] get to hang out with those guys and rub shoulders with heroes. Any time you get a chance you do that, you should do it.”
