Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) was on “Hannity” tonight to discuss President Barack Obama’s response to the crash of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17.

“I don’t understand this president,” McCain said, noting that Obama has been doing fundraisers amid the crisis on the border and now after the crash of MH17, even though there are reports that Americans were aboard the plane.

The Arizona senator said the pro-Russian separatists suspected in the downing of Flight MH17 were either Russian-trained or their leaders are Russian.

He said we are paying a heavy price for perception of American weakness across the globe. He also said the U.S. should impose the “harshest sanctions possible” against Russia.

“It’s just been cowardly, it’s a cowardly administration that we’ve failed to give the Ukrainians weapons with which to defend themselves,” McCain said.
