Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) has been repeatedly calling on President Obama to visit the Mexican border and to see for himself what is going on at packed detention centers that are housing thousands of unaccompanied children.

This morning on America's Newsroom (video below), Cuellar said he he still feels it's bizarre for President Obama not to visit the border while he is already in Texas during the crisis.

Kirsten Powers reacted this afternoon on Outnumbered, which featured first-time #oneluckyguy Bill Hemmer, arguing that it "doesn't look good" for the president to be fundraising in Texas and playing pool in Colorado amid a crisis.

She also pushed back against the president's argument that he isn't looking to go to the border simply for a photo op.

"The president should be engaged. To write it off and say, 'I don't do photo ops.' Well, we all know that's not true, we know he does photo ops. We know that when there's a disaster, you go to the disaster and nobody calls that 'just doing a photo op,'" said Powers, arguing at the least the president should go to the border to show compassion.

Sandra Smith asked why the president doesn't at least visit an AIr Force Base in Texas that's being used to house illegal immigrants.

"I don't think he wants to do draw any more attention to this. And him going there would draw more attention to it. I don't think it's the right way to handle it," said Powers.

She concluded by arguing it "doesn't make any sense" for Obama to blame Republicans for the lack of action and then decline to draw as much attention as possible to the situation.
