A truck driver's cell phone video of his traffic stop in Illinois is going viral. During the exchange, Brian Miner told the officer that he honked his horn because he observed him speeding on a wet road with his cell phone in his hand.

The officer denied the accusation, and said he was going to write Miner a ticket for unlawful use of his horn. Miner then informed the officer he was recording their conversation.

Expecting to be handed a ticket, Miner was surprised when the officer came back from his cruiser and said he was letting him go.

“I didn’t write you a ticket. I didn’t want to hurt your record," said the officer, reversing course and explaining that he understood why Miner used his horn.

“And that’s what happens when they know you’re recording,” Miner said at the end of the video.

Illinois State Police are investigating, but have not commented on the situation.
