You just can’t put a price tag on doing the right thing.

A 9-year-old girl who found about $3,000 in a recycling bin at her summer camp could have pocketed the cash. Instead, she reported the money to her camp director, who called police.

Authorities tracked down the owner of the money, a 91-year-old woman living 40 miles away whose friend accidentally threw out the cash with a pile of magazines.

The child’s mother chalks up the good deed to faith.

“Our faith teaches us that, you know, you do kind things and the right thing, not, you know, to get recognition, just because it is the right thing to do,” she said.

Meanwhile, the elderly woman says she is very grateful that the little girl did the right thing.
