A blind man is making his dreams come true by earning an auto-mechanics degree from New Mexico State University. Clifford Alderson shared his inspirational ‘Real Story’ with Gretchen Carlson.

Alderson said getting accepted into the school was the first challenge. He worked with the Commission for the Blind to get into the New Mexico program.

He explained that the blind generally have 30 percent better hearing than those who can see. That allows him to listen to what’s abnormal about a car and fix it.

Alderson’s main message: don’t let a disability stop you from achieving you goals.

He currently works part-time and is hoping to be hired full-time.
