Today on Capitol Hill, IRS Commissioner John Koskinen was grilled by lawmakers about Lois Lerner’s missing emails.

Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX) asked Koskinen why anyone should believe the IRS after they have repeatedly told lies about the targeting scandal.

“Today, you’re telling us that out of the thousands of IRS computers, the one that lost the emails was the person of interest in an ongoing congressional investigation?” he said. “This is the most corrupt and deceitful IRS in history.”

Brady spoke to guest host Martha MacCallum tonight on The Kelly File about the next steps in the investigation.

He acknowledged that it’s a continual uphill battle, but said they will keep pressing the IRS for information.

Earlier today, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest blasted the congressional investigation as having a “transparent political motive.”

Brady pushed back at that claim, saying, “They don’t want anything discovered. This is the same White House […] that told us this was a few rogue agents in Cincinnati – that was disproved in two weeks.”
