'Cover Up of the Cover Up': Bozell on the Lack of IRS Scandal in Media Coverage
There has been bombshell after bombshell in the IRS targeting controversy, so where is the media coverage? Brent Bozell, president of the Media Research Center, tackled that question tonight on The Kelly File.
“The cover up of the cover up continues,” he told Megyn Kelly.
Recently, the IRS claimed that two years of former IRS official Lois Lerner’s emails are missing.
Bozell noted that there was no coverage of that story by CBS Evening News, ABC or NBC.
“You have to ask yourself, Megyn […] at what point will the news media – and isn’t that a rich irony – at what point will the news media decide that this is news?” Bozell wondered, adding that he doesn’t know of any network besides Fox News that has done an investigation on the scandal.
Megyn added, “It may be [...] they’re just the victim of some very bad IT issues at the IRS. But any journalist would want to push a little to test these claims.”
Bozell agreed, saying this is precisely why the public doesn’t trust the news media.
