Today on The Real Story, Gretchen Carlson spoke to the father of a Marine killed in Iraq about the escalating violence in the region. Col. Tom Manion (Ret.) has written the book, “Brothers Forever,” about his son Travis and his best friend, Navy SEAL Brendan Looney, who was killed in Afghanistan.

On the current crisis in Iraq, Manion said, “There’s just been way too much sacrifice and way too much that we’ve put in to turning Iraq around to have this happen. So I’m extremely disappointed.”

The White House is reportedly considering a partnership with Iran to counter the violence. Manion doesn’t believe the United States needs to join Iran, but instead should work directly with the Iraqis.

Looney and Manion are buried next to one another at Arlington Cemetery. Read more about their story here.
