GOOD NEWS Parents Adopt Fallen Marine Son’s Bomb-Sniffing Dog
The parents of a fallen Marine have adopted his four-legged military friend.
Nearly three years ago, Marine Staff Sgt. Christopher Diaz was killed by an explosive device as he rushed to help a fellow Marine.
Soon thereafter, his family expressed interest in adopting his bomb-sniffing dog Dino, who survived the ordeal.
Now that Dino has retired, Sandra and Salvador Diaz have welcomed him into their home.
Friends of Christopher say that the fallen Marine lives within Dino because the dog has many of Christopher’s personality traits.
Salvador and Sandra say it means a lot to them to have Dino in the family.
Salvador also discussed how holidays like Father’s Day can be tough.
“We’re still lacking one more phone call that we’ll never hear, but eventually we’ll be together,” he said.
