Sen. Inhofe on Bergdahl Swap: ‘In Shock’ To Learn Admin Kept Top U.S. Generals in the Dark
Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) went “On The Record” tonight, where he discussed the Senate Armed Services Committee briefing on the Bergdahl swap.
“All I learned today is how well-orchestrated the White House is, they had everyone saying the same thing, no one disagreeing and so there is very little new,” Inhofe said.
Inhofe said he was “in shock” to learn that top Generals Dunford and Austin were not advised that these detainees were being freed.
He also said that the White House is now trying to put this whole decision on Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel. Inhofe said it wasn’t Hagel and was clearly the administration’s doing.
“The decision is bad enough, but to try to push it off on someone else is worse,” he said.
