The ancient technique of oil pulling has become the latest health trend, with experts saying that swishing oil can improve dental health, as well as kidney and heart disease.

“Oil Pulling Therapy” author Dr. Bruce Fife said you should swish oil for 10-20 minutes per day to draw toxins from the body. He said coconut oil is the best.

“If you look at the health of the mouth, you can get a pretty good idea of the health of the rest of the body,” Fife said.

Fife said you can see positive effects of oil pulling almost immediately, with teeth becoming whiter and breath smelling fresher.

Fife said oil pulling can help your heart, brain and kidney because the bacteria in our mouths seep into the bloodstream and affect other parts of the body.
