Fox News Poll: Majority of Voters 'Very' Concerned Talks With Terrorists Will Lead to More US Hostages
A new Fox News poll shows that 57 percent of registered voters are “very” concerned that talks with terrorists will lead to more American soldier hostages. The results of the poll come days after Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl was released in exchange for five Taliban leaders being freed from Gitmo.
The breakdown is closer when it comes to support for prisoner swap with 45 percent approving and 47 percent disapproving.
On Special Report, syndicated columnist George Will predicted that those numbers will quickly move adversely for President Obama. He blasted the administration for damaging the Constitution by releasing the prisoners without notifying Congress.
Charles Krauthammer said even if Bergdahl served honorably, it would still be a very difficult decision to make a prisoner exchange.
“The only way you could begin to justify this is to say we had an obligation to get him out. But now we have an obligation to make sure that if he did what his soldiers around him unanimously said he did – deserted, he needs to be at the receiving end of military justice,” Krauthammer said.
