Soldier Who Served With Bergdahl: ‘He Left on His Own Accord’
Tonight on On The Record, Greta Van Susteren spoke to a soldier who served alongside Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. Former Army Pfc. Jose Baggett says the rescued POW is a deserter, not a hero.
Baggett said, “When [Bergdahl] walked off the observation post and […] they did their check in the morning, they didn’t find him. He was gone, he was missing and he walked off, and so our mission changed.”
As a result of the mission change, he said “people’s lives were lost” in the search.
Greta also spoke to Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who has called for an immediate hearing into the Obama administration’s release of five Gitmo detainees for Bergdahl.
On Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) saying he’s glad to have gotten rid of five Taliban prisoners, Graham said, “Harry Reid is disconnected from reality to a level that even I didn’t understand until he said that. I wish they would have died in jail. There is not one shred of evidence that letting them go was based on the fact that they are no longer dangerous. These people were let go for political reasons.”
