Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) was on “The Real Story” today to discuss the Bergdahl swap.

Chaffetz blasted the administration for not informing Congress of the decision to swap POW Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl for five Gitmo detainees. He said the idea that the administration “forgot” to tell the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee is “no excuse.”

Chaffetz said it’s against the law not to tell Congress, and that officials consciously made the decision not to.

While he said it’s important to get an American home, he called the released detainees “the dream team” and said “we’re putting them back on the battlefield.”

Chaffetz said the president shouldn’t negotiate with terrorists.
