Have you ever heard of or been to a "divorce party?" The celebration can - but does not always - include an upside-down cake with black frosting.

The trend was called out in an AP article this week, so that led Tucker Carlson to ask why these celebrations are growing in popularity.

We didn't think there was technically a right answer to that question, but after watching the segment, we think Sandra Smith came up with it.

"I think that this is all just an excuse - and this is a broad-based statement on our culture in America - to drink alcohol," she opined.

Kirsten Powers said as a person who has been through a divorce, she "can't imagine having done this," arguing the people who have these celebrations "must really hate" their former spouse.

Watch the debate above and tell us what you think of the growing trend.
