Prince Charles is chiming in on global warming, but is the British royal out of touch? During a speech in London, the prince said climate change can be stopped by changing capitalism.

He stated, “The primary purpose of capitalism should surely be to serve the wider, long-term interests and concerns of humanity, rather than the other way around.

Prince Charles continued, “Either we continue along the path we seem collectively determined to follow, apparently at the mercy of those who so vociferously and aggressively deny that our current operating model has an effect upon dangerously accelerating climate change - which I fear will bring us to our own destruction, or we can choose to act now, before it is finally too late, using all of the power and influence, sustainable and resilient society.”

Today on The Five, Eric Bolling reacted, “It’s just funny to hear a guy who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, who’s never had to risk anything, invest anything, earn anything, to say now the way to fix this is to change capitalism.

He pointed out that capitalism worked out well for royal family with their billions of dollars in assets.

Bob Beckel on the other hand agreed with Prince Charles. He said the world is at a critical point and predicted that we will experience major disasters in the next 10 years because of global warming.

The hosts also reacted to President Obama’s remarks at West Point yesterday. During his commencement speech, the president said, “That spirit of cooperation must energize the global effort to combat climate change – a creeping national security crisis that will help shape your time in uniform, as we’re called on to respond to refugee flows, natural disasters, and conflicts over water and food.”

So should the military be tasked with fighting climate change?
