LAKELAND (FOX 13) - Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd warns the public to be on the lookout for 27-year David Eugene Smith of Lakeland. They believe he is responsible for shooting and killing three people whose bodies were found in a Lakeland home Monday night.

During a press conference Tuesday morning, Sheriff Judd said Smith is armed and considered to be extremely dangerous for several reasons.

According to Smith’s mother, he was in the military, and is very well-trained after serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. He suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and paranoia, and is considered to be delusional.

Sheriff Judd said he goes by Davie. He also refers to himself as Prince David on his Facebook page, which features a Star of David.

The page was last updated on Saturday with a post that reads, "2 my adulteress wife now you know better. I just don't know why a being so close to me would hide it and play games. When I'm me and know a lot. David 7,7 well I will see you.

Officials do not know where Smith is, but they believe he is driving a beige, 2002 Mercury Sable with Florida plate 708MDB.

The search for Smith crosses state lines as Sheriff Judd said he is known to have family in Texas, and an ex-girlfriend from high school in Chattanooga, TN.

Deputies want to hear from anyone with information on Smith’s whereabouts. If you happen to see him, they ask that you stay away and contact the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

As for the murder, investigators say it could have happened anytime between this past Saturday night- when each of the victims was last heard from- and Monday night- when their bodies were discovered.

According to Sheriff Judd, one of the victims’ daughters found them around 9 p.m. The 14-year-old is a member of the George Jenkins High ROTC program, and was being dropped off by her Sergeant Major from a Memorial Day weekend away. She ran back outside to tell the Sergeant, who called in the emergency.

Detectives say the victims, two women and one man, were all shot to death.
