Is President Barack Obama losing his grip? Bill O’Reilly weighed in tonight in his Talking Points Memo.

Jay Carney recently said that Obama learned of the Phoenix VA scandal through news reports. The Associated Press reported that the president heard of the alleged IRS targeting through the news, and USA Today said Obama didn’t know that the NSA was spying on Germany’s Angela Merkel until the story broke. Carney also said that the president was uninformed about Fast and Furious until he saw the story in the media. Obama also appeared surprised about the ObamaCare website problems.

“So there’s a pattern here, is there not? It seems the president of the United States and his advisors are the last to know about major problems,” O’Reilly said.

O’Reilly also noted that polls show an “erosion of confidence” toward the White House and Congress.

“The American people believe the competency of the federal government is underwhelming, and it is,” O’Reilly said.
