‘I Don’t Want Theater’: Boehner on Benghazi House Select Committee
House Speaker John Boehner was on “Sunday Morning Futures” to discuss the Benghazi House select committee.
Boehner said he chose committee members who are bright, energetic and committed to getting the facts.
“This is a serious investigation. I don’t want theater, I don’t want a sideshow. I want the members of this committee to find the facts for the four families who lost their loved ones, and the facts for the American people,” he said.
Boehner said he chose seven Republicans and five Democrats because the Republicans have the majority in the House. He said the committee will look at events leading up to the attack, the requests for more security, the events of the night of the attack, and why the White House described the attack in the way that it did.
“The American people deserve the truth,” he said.
Boehner also discussed the IRS scandal. Hear what he had to say about it in part 1 of the interview with Maria Bartiromo.
