The Australian Transportation Board says an object that washed ashore is not part of missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370.

This morning, Australian officials had said a piece of sheet metal washed upon the beach about 180 miles south of Perth, calling it an “object of interest.” They examined it for links to the missing plane, but determined it was unrelated.

The jetliner was carrying 239 people when it vanished 47 days ago. Now, investigators are back at square one.
