A penny saved is a penny earned … to put toward college tuition?

Southwestern Christian University senior Andrew Magbee paid his final $974.17 school tuition bill in pennies.

Magbee carted about 100,000 coins into the Oklahoma school, the result of years of work.

"I've done everything from collecting aluminum cans to opening a sub shop," he told Fox25.

Magbee will graduate debt-free. The Institute for College Access and Success estimates that seven in 10 college students will graduate in debt this spring.

"I think it could be something I could look back on and always remind me that being frugal is important and watching your pennies is important," he said.
