It’s Shatner’s world and we’re all just living in it. The actor appeared on Fox and Friends this morning to discuss his one-man show called, you guessed it, “Shatner’s World.”

The show takes audiences through Shatner’s path from classically trained Shakespearean actor to a cultural icon. Shatner took the critically acclaimed Broadway show on tour across America. Now, people can watch the live event in movie theaters on April 24.

“It is filled with laughs and it’s filled with tears and it’s filled with some piquant observations,” Shatner said.

Then there’s the musical portion of the show. Shatner gave a sample of his musical talents, sort of, before adding, “It sounds better when adjusted by machinery.”

Switching gears to a letter that’s going viral on the Internet, Shatner recently wrote to the USS Zumwalt. The ship is commanded by a real-life Captain Kirk, the same name of course as Shatner’s infamous role. The newly christened vessel is being described as the Navy’s “most futuristic ship.”

He wrote, “Unfortunately I can’t be with you when your vessel is commissioned and obviously your captain, Captain Kirk, is dear to my heart…but know that you are in our thoughts – Mr. and Mrs. Shatner – and that we bless you and hope that you have a safe journey where your ship takes you.”
