ObamaCare Architect Plays Down Enrollment as Latest Numbers Fall Short
The Department of Health and Human Services released new ObamaCare enrollment numbers today.
According to HHS, 940,000 people signed up in February, bringing the total enrollment number to 4.2 million.
HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius had said that the goal was to have 7 million people enrolled by the end of March.
“The White House needs something close to a miracle to meet its goal,” the Associated Press wrote today.
Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, an architect of ObamaCare, was on “The Kelly File” to discuss enrollment numbers. He said that goal was from a CBO report that Sebelius was quoting.
Emanuel said there’s a lot of misinformation out there, “and we obviously have to go out and sell this better.”
When asked if he thinks the administration is playing politics with delays to parts of the law, he said, “I think what they’re trying to do is make it smooth for people who are enrolling.”
