In a contentious back and forth during testimony in the George Zimmerman murder trial on Thursday, the prosecution's star witness, Rachel Jeantel, told the defense during questioning that she believed that statements she overheard while on the phone with Trayvon Martin exhibited a racial element ... but not because of comments made by Martin.

"He described him as a 'creepy ass cracker,'" asked defense attorney Don West, "so it was racial because Trayvon Martin put race in this?" Jeantel replied, "no..."

"You don't think 'creepy ass cracker' is a racial comment?" he pressed. Jeantel again replied, "No."
