Pass the Tissues: Military Dad Reunites With Son on 'Fox and Friends'
When Persian Gulf War veteran Jim Knotts was presented with the opportunity to get involved with the organization known as Operation Homefront, it didn't take him long to decide to sign on. Now, Knotts is Homefront's CEO, and when he stopped by Fox and Friends on Friday - Flag Day - he shared his team's mission with Brian Kilmeade. At his side was a soldier who says he owes Operation Homefront a debt of gratitude for what they've done to help him and his family.
Military dad Sheldon Barr told Kilmeade that he joined the army to "get my life going, get my career going," but it's been hard on his relationship with his now three-year-old son, Joey. Due to his deployment, Sheldon missed Joey's first steps, and in a letter to Operation Homefront asking for help in getting him reunited with his son, Sheldon wrote, "nothing could make a dad happier than getting to spend time with his little dude."
Well, Knotts had a surprise for the humble dad ... a pint-sized surprise in the shape of a 3-year-old named Joey.
"This is what it's all about," Knotts said as the two were reunited in studio.
