Paula Deen in Hot Water for Racial Slur
Celebrity chef Paula Deen admitted in a recent deposition to making questionable comments on race ... and now, she's feeling the heat.
Deen and her brother are currently being sued a by former employee for racial and sexual discrimination in the work place, and during the suit's deposition, Deen admitted to using the N-word years prior when a black man robbed a bank where she was working.
In a question and answer session with an attorney, a line of questioning included the following back and forth:
Lawyer: Well, okay, did you use the N-word to him as he pointed a gun in your head to your face?
Paula: Absolutely not.
Lawyer: Well, then when did you use it?
Paula: Probably when telling my husband.
Deen went on to say, "That's just not a word that we use as time has gone on ... things have changed since the 60s in the South. And my children and my brother object to that word being used in any cruel or mean behavior. As well as I do."
UPDATE: Megyn Kelly just told us on America Live that Deen was supposed to address the controversy on Friday's NBC's "Today Show" but was a last-minute no-show.
